I've done 2 rear axle swaps on my own trucks, a 37 and a 51, both have non parallel rear leaf springs.I used over the counter Mopar spring pads and slightly modified S10- lower U bolt plates.Installed the pads on as they were,no problem at all with the angled springs, the U bolt spacing is wide enough to clear the slight angle of the springs.It's best to set up the axle before welding the pads,check out the pinion angle,then weld. You just have to firmly tack weld the pads,no real need for intense welding that may warp the axle tubes unless you have 450 HP.
