I just did this job on my 3100. Newport motor and new linkage from classic parts.

The new linkage and the motor instructions don't jive. The linkage that connects to the motor doesn't need the larger plastic grommets since the linkage has a bolt head hole.
I slipped the linkage on the motor, then the plastic washer, then the c clip.
You don't need the old style spring clip.
Passenger linkage goes on top, driver on bottom of motor.
I had to unseat and adjust the wipers arms to get them to be in the correct park position.
