I have a 1957 261 that I plan on installing in my 51 3100. I would like to use the 57 bellhousing because of the better mounting stance and I dont want to use the spindle leg front engine mounts. I could use the bellhousing from the 51 but would prefer the 57.

I have searched the forums and saw mention of modifying the 51 crossmember or bellhousing but no description as to how it was done.
