I have not done it to a truck but I did it to a VW a long time ago and it was a piece of cake. rip out the vent cut the post mounts and slide a new piece of channel around the entire window.
for a window template a glass guy told me to use a piece of 1/4 masonite. install it and get it working just like it was glass then take it in to the glass shop to get the real thing.
