Bob - I've got a 58 long fleet as my daily driver - mostly around a small town, but also highway, and sometimes w/ up to 2000# on it - stock brakes work fine if ya drive sane and defensively - prolly not ideal for high speed freeway bumper to bumper every day, but then nothin would be!!

keep'em clean and adjusted properly and keep the fluid topped up - hint for preventing the mstr cyl lid from siezing up and being a bugger to loosen - use a large O-ring as a gasket.
