Hello all, I'm struggling with something that should be easy. Both my front wheel bearing dust caps fell off when I drove it around the block and I'm trying to locate replacements for my stock 1954 Chev 3100 truck. Of course I cannot find them on the road.
I found a set that looked like they would fit based upon measurements. When I received the dust caps, they are about 1/8" too small. Look at the attached picture. The packaging indicates 2.18" diameter, but the actual measurement is 2.08". I now have 4 sets of dust caps that indicate they are for a 1954 chev 3100 truck. All are too small. All hardware I've bought so far has fit correctly - wheel bearings, brakes, wheel cylinder.
I have measured the ID of the hub and it's 2.13", which converts to 54.1mm. What could be wrong? I don't think the hubs are off anything different, but now starting to have doubts. Yes- they are 6 lug hubs.
It would be great if some one with a 1954 Chev 3100 could measure the ID of their hubs for comparison. Thanks
