For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 364 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 364 | I put a new GM crate 350/330HP in my 52 Burb...it has a 16" electric fan (puller)w/ shroud...it has AC(but I haven't run it...yet, but the condenser is mounted in front of a new "Rodney Red" aluminum radiator. The new motor has about 50 miles on it... The engine runs hot at idle (200+) and cools down as the truck runs at highway speeds (180-190). The electric fan appears to be operating well,it cycles on at 180...appears to run all the time once the engine warms up)).After driving the truck for 10 miles the engine compartment is so hot you can't touch anything...Is this a new motor break-in issue or do I have other problems? | | |
