Thanks GM. Yes, it is a small block. I really was hopong for someone to recommend something that might fit. Equal length tubes would be nice, but I could be "bought off" by a set of headers that would fit. Regarding block huggars, I just think of them as very good exhaust manifolds, but not as headers, where the length impacts the operation and effeciency of the engine. Shorties would be OK, I guess, if I could find a pair that would fit and that had large enough tubes (1 5/8). Even if I had to raise the engine a little or make other "tweaks" to my installation, I would do it to avoid the labor of home-made headers. I've read a lot of stuff from Ed Hinneman (sp?) and he makes a lot of very good points that favor home-made headers. I'd even buy a set of his (VERY expensive) to get what I want, but he doesn't make anything that will work with the M2 front end. And I'm committed (in steel) to that, and don't want to start frame work all over again. Thanks for the response (and the idea to consider late model Shorties), though, and we'll see if anyone else answers.
