Some guys have tried
Pertronix ignition. This keeps the stock dist. look, but upgrades you to solid state ignition. I have never tried it and I am NOT endorsing it, it's just an option.
Me, I'm keeping points/condenser set-up and I have a spare set in the glovebox, you never know............
