I appreciate you bearing down on this matter with me. I can tell you that the rubber molded connector appears to room and evidence from the mold there could be a dedicated spot parallel to the existing blade. Now why this was not used who knows. You mentioned the '59 model year may have had both turn signals as well as its parking lights. Could you verify that against your period correct wiring diagram if that is something available to you and close at hand.
The bulb has a single contact. Took a mirror to look at the back of the housing...single wire passing through a rubber boot securely attach to the back of the housing. All single wire components.
