With the truck on jackstands, I put enough fluid in to see if it would spin the tires , just to see if it worked or not. It did so I removed the pan and chaged the filter , installed a new chrome deep pan that I'd gotten off of E-bay a while back . New fluid again , checked it (not warmed up) and the level was ok. The next day I walked in the garage and tranny fluid was all over the floor ! over full ? so I got the level down and retightened the pan bolts, Got the temp up and checked the level -got it up too proper level . Thats when I reallized it didn't really want to go forward much -it would go back into the shop under its own power. My nephew's buddy says he would rebuild it for cheap , he does trannys at a dealership in St.Louis . Plus - his grandpa used to own my truck and his dad learned how to drive in it ! Kinda Cool ! I guess I will pick up a rebuild kit at NAPA , flush out the converter and let him tear into it .
