if it helps answer your redline question, i've attached an image of a typical power curve from a chevy engine test report for a 235 cu this image is from 1948 publication i've been told not to run 235s beyond 4000 rpm as that's "destruction in minutes" territory, but could be wrong or not remembering correctly. -s
