| | | | Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 173 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jul 2000 Posts: 173 | First, I suggest heating each nut from the bottom and then let them all cool. If you don't have an gas welder setup, a propane torch will do. This will help loosen the bond between the nut and the bolt.
Then, take a 4" angle grinder with a thin cutoff wheel and slice a slot into the top of each carriage bolt. Then you can prevent the bolt from rotating with a BIG screwdriver and have someone underneath wrench the nuts off.
