Started up my rebuilt 250 and the new reman starter is not disengaging, makes a horrible noise. It is the front 3-bolt type of starter. Can these type of starters be shimmed or is there another fix for this. Is it electrical? Where can I get shims for this type of starter? Thanx in advance Dano I really want to drive my truck again, after it has been sitting in the garage for a year. If it's not one thing its another.
