Hey everyone, on my '62 I have the truck stripped down to just the frame. I removed the whole front end as a single piece and have the differential and trailing arms removed also. The last major step I took on my truck was sandblasting then painting the frame. I have some idea of what I need to do next, but I would like the opinions of others too. Right now there are lots of parts that still need to have rust and grease/dirt removed from them.
The parts I haven't cleaned or am in the process of cleaning are,
[*]Front end (steering/suspension components)
[*]Trailing arms
[*]Rear axle
I know that the next thing I want to do is work on the suspension and steering components but I'm not totally sure where to start. Here are some general questions I have, anything else you think I should know would be appreciated.
-Should I take apart the front end further? Currently everything is together in one piece that was unbolted from the frame.
-How will I know what parts to replace in the steering system?
-Should I replace everything to be safe?
-Should I start with the front or rear first?
-Do rusted coil springs need to be replaced?
I really appreciate any help I can get. I really wan to kick working on my truck into high gear so I can try to get it completed within a few years so my grandpa can see it.
