posey, please give us a progress report on your installation.
That seems to be a particularly difficult installation on a 1954 truck..
I gave up on it, on my '54 Suburban; but, I will try to do it on my '54 pickup.

The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" --
this is a splash oiler.
