My '59 1/2 ton came equipped with a SM420 4-speed. It has a one piece shaft and the emergency brake is the dash mounted type. I guess a 4 speed was available option. Mine is a deluxe cab fleetside, short wheelbase, with all the chrome, but it orginally had the standard heater and no radio. Someday must have ordered it that way.
