This is the same combo I have in my 55 2nd.I used an aftermarket crossmember motormount and tranny mount.yeah bolt the tranny to the engine.Hook up the tranny and motor mounts.Then sit everything in and square it up.make sure to leave some room between the distributor and the firewall,about an inch shoud do.Now bolt or weld your tranny crossmember to the frame,next,with the carb off place a level where the carb sits and level the motor,square it up side to side and tack weld the new motormount crossmember in place.Next diconnect the mounts from the motor,and tranny pull everything out again and weld the mounts in solid. Thats the way I did mine
