So here it is nearly Dec. and I have found a lead on this issue. Apperrently 'old cars and trucks' electricall systems produce energy spikes. These can mess up new radios in old vehicles. I am thinking in terms of a surge, so a surge protector ought to be the clue to the figamagig I need to install. So now, whatever that is ... Meanwhile Retrosound says they can fix it.
