In a previous post I stated a problem with my '46 1/2 ton windows. The windows on both sides won't stay up, although the drivers side is clearly worse than the passengers side. The recommendation was to get new window regulators which I now have. To be specific I've purchased the cylinder shaped assembly that the window crank attaches to. Took apart the drivers side door last night and getting the regulator out and I observed a large flat spring that seems to control the window up/down force. I don't see any other springs. Before I cut off the rivits on the old regulator and replace, is this problem a regulator problem or a spring problem? Someone told me to refer to the shop manual but I've been unable to find any specific information on this problem. Am I on the right track here or way off base? Thanks.
