| | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,097 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,097 | You will need to disassemble the entire unit. There are 3 bearings in an overdrive transmission. The center bearing is on the mainshaft which is integral to the overdrive components. The rear bearing is on the rear shaft which contains the planetary ring gear.
There is a good break down in the 55 factory shop manual available from numerous aftermarket sources. There are numerous posts on his site regarding this subject. We are here to help.
