I'm really enjoying my truck but have had an ongoing drive line noise/vibration problem that may be related to a u-joint angle problem. I installed a camero 5 speed behind a 261. I left the long tail shaft on because I had the room. I shortened the front driveshaft but all this changed the angle from the carrier bearing to the trans. tailshaft. I installed two wedges between the carrier bearing and the frame member it is mounted on but I think I need more correction.
Here is the question: if I raised the front of the engine by adding a spacer to the engine mount would I hurt the running of the engine?(oil pump, or...) Is there an easier way to corrcet tha angle that I am missing? Thanks, Don.
