welcome to the garage Gerard, from over on the wet coast - Chev didn't chrome anything under the hood, so have at it if ya want ... the original engine color woulda been gray, including the pan and top cover, with the bolt-ons, like starter, generator, air cleaner, being black .... if you look thru the gallery you'll prolly find a 40 or close year with a good engine resto picture
