That is almost exactly the process I use to break my motors in. As for brake in oil, for years I used regular 10W30 and a can of real GM EOS (Engine Oil Supplement). The current EOS is not the same stuff. For probably the last 10 years I have been using bradpenn break in oil. Base stock Pennsylvania crude, a synthetic package (making it a semi synthetic) and additional ZDDP for the brake in. Its one of those things, I used it the first time, the motor broke in perfectly. So I used it ever other time and same result. I used it on my own 261 (very modified motor) so I like the brad penn--its now called PennGrade after the company was purchased by the DA Lubricant folks. There are other products that is the one I like and have had the most success with recently.
