I am finally down to the front finders on my 64 and have purchased new repair panels for the rear bottom corners. Should I try to just cut this thing in and butt weld the panel or should I try to lap weld it? I do not have the means to put a flange on the finder so it would be an over lap sort of deal. I am pretty sure I can butt weld and it would look OK, but I was worried about the strength of the finder afterwords.
