I own a 1963 K10 with a 261. It has 82K miles, is 98% original & unmolested. I believe the 261 was the standard engine for K10s in 62. Mine was built in July of 62 & has a 62 style steering column. It could have been ordered this way or maybe it is so early in the production run they used leftover parts? The truck looks exactly like the K1534 LWB fleetside shown page 2 of the1963-Original-Chevrolet-Truck-4-Wheel-Drive-Models-Sales-Brochure listed on ebay.
