Years ago, when my dad owned the 59, he fabricated this modification so that a simple modern day spin on oil filter could be used instead of the cartridge filter in the external filter setup. Here's some pictures that kind of tell the story. Not exactly sure how he manged the return line to the block, but maybe you guys can tell.
