I did a simple search on Brazilian Redwood. I have never used it, but after reading some of the web poop, If it were me, I would use something else. It machines relatively hard but it also cups and moves a lot with moisture change.
Stainless fasteners are recommended, so there must be some 'acidic juice' issues. Remember, I have no first hand info...just snooping.
