Don't know what kind of power brake kit you have, however if you read the manual for your truck you will see a "toe board clearance" adjustment. There is a clevis nut to adjust for 13/16 space between brake arm and under side of toe pan. Pedal is not supposed to slam against the floor board. The linkage stops the pedal. As I said, don't know what effect your power brake set up has on this original adjustment feature. Adjust the new system to NOT slam using linkage adjustments. The 13/16 is just a target dimension now because of your modifications. Adjust pedal so that brake switch is activated but not smashed, pedal does not slam and brake pressure is released.
Option: (if all else fails) I think a brake pressure switch is included in some power brake kits or you can add one in the line with a tee for $10. Then remove mechanical switch and add bumper.
