Parts people won’t answer my question of which cab parts for pickups can be used on 2-ton cabs (at least not by email.) Searching these forums I found a few helps, but not much detail:
One poster: “Luckily enough, the big bolts share the same cabs as the 1/2-3/4 ton versions making the "general" stuff plenty available.”
Another poster: “At the least, the cab floors are significantly different.
The front fenders bolt to cab much differently.
The doors are different.
Some/many interior parts should be the same.”
And another: “the cabs will be the same in all areas except the floor area, and the door area at the wheel arch. Everything else will interchange with the pickups.”
I knew about the door area wheel arch (the hard way.) Are the doors themselves different? It would be nice if there were a list of items that one should NOT buy for their big bolt. The items I’d like to get for my 1954 2-ton are:
Rear window glass and rubber
Door rubber (glued on)
Lower door rubber retainer
Door windlace
Rubber weatherstrip under the door opening
Accelerator pedal and felt bushing for the rod
Brake and clutch pedal pads
Gearshift boot and pad
Starter pedal boot
Master cylinder floor hole cover
Headliner pieces
Possible others
