To the original poster . If you are still considering changing cams , please be aware the 216 has a forged cam and later replacements are cast . This means the distributor drive gear has to match the material requirements of the particular cam you choose to use .
I think , if your cam and lifters are able to be cleaned up by an engine shop , that will be the easiest choice.
