Let it sit for a day, then take the run files to it then go no coarser than 1000 grit wet and you will be able to tell if you can get by without re-coating at that point. Then to 1500 and on to 2000. Then break out the compounds. I had a lot of trash one day after shooting the fenders but was pretty surprised after the run files and 1000 grit.
