Good day everyone! First time posting here, but been following for a while.
I have a big bolt, a 1953 Chevrolet 2 ton Canadian truck, model 1500 here. Long story short, bought the truck this last March in Eston Saskatchewan, Canada and got it shipped to my place in East Hawkesbury, Ontario. Paid more for the transport than the truck, but anyway...
Truck was sitting for 25 years or so, gas turned to tar, so I rebuild the carb, fuel pump, clean the tank, rebuild starter and generator, change the water pump, tuned up, couple frost plugs, clean inside the engine (by the way, in Canada we were lucky enough to have the full pressure 235" in 53), new seat and new 825-20 tires. Now I'm building a new deck on the back, 8' X 12' to haul my antique tractors. The truck is 100% original and surprisingly enough, not farmers molestered. Also had to replace both windshields cause the hood went and smack them during transport. I did make sure to mention to the driver to tie the hood and doors before leaving, but his reply was... I've been trucking for 40 years and this is a waist of time..... Well guess who was right?
Any way, just want to say hello and thanks for the help you guys provided and I hope to be able to help too.
