Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 11 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Oct 2017 Posts: 11 | Hi Folks, I am a relatively new member. Last summer I purchased a 1953 3/4 ton Chevy pickup. I planned to convert the front brakes to disk so I purchased a conversion kit from Dave Chapman at Hollister Road Co. in Houston. His comment at the time was "Feel free to call anytime if you have questions." I called a short time later and his son informed me that he had passed away that morning. When I tried to make the conversion the brackets for the calipers would not fit my truck. My brother was helping (actually doing most of the work) and he has over 10 years experience as a brake mechanic. Neither of us could make it work. I may be able to have a shop do some cutting and welding, but I'm not sure it can be worked out. So, have any of you had experience with Dave Chapman? And, do you have any suggestions for a source for new conversion brackets? Thanks, Bob 53RLT56. | | |
