From another amature: If you willing to accept "not perfect" body work, you can probably do the paint yourself to the same quality level as your body work. I'm basically in the same boat and I've been able to do a decent job with entry level equipment using acrylic enamel. If you catch some decent weather you can paint outside without a booth. You will need a respirator of some type though. For me, the satisfaction of doing it myself offsets the less than perfect results. Have fun with it.
