Wondering why you say "braze (not weld)". headscratch

I would think a couple of quick tacks with a mig gun would introduce less heat stress into the hub than brazing with a torch, which would take more time to get up to brazing temp because of the quenching effect of the mass of the hub.

Good tip on the washers and nut to keep it aligned while welding (or brazing).
