When I called Posies tech support 800.979.0122 they gave me a Monroe shock reference of #5758 (28-80289) and #5847 (28-80217). I think they said it was the same shocks spec for an old thunderbird, and believe that all you need are the first 4 digit numbers to get them from your local FLAPS.
The truck rides very smooth and I have not bottomed out yet, but have only encountered large speed humps so far. As noted before, I have not ridden in an all original vintage truck with the old springs and lever shocks to judge the before and after, but the 3" drop springs and the shocks they told me to get seem to work well together. it is definitely not a canyon carver or hot rod, but is good for getting around and enjoying!
