Yes ,if you keep sanding you will hit color.Stop!!!It sounds to me like your presure was too low when you sprayed the clear and you were probably holding back to try not to run it again.The paint or in this case clear comes out of the gun in tiny droplets mixed with air.When the presure is too low this means there isn't enough air which in turn means not enough clear,which then means the little droplets land farther apart and don't overlap each other, giving us the smooth glassy like finish we all so desire.So the answer to your question is YES you can clear over the 2000 grit sanded clear and trust me the little pin holes will disappear. WARNING!!! make sure you WASH THE PARTS really well with a prep cleaner before you re clear and take a bit of air and gently blow the cleaner out of the pinholes or it will show up later then you will be doing it again and again and again. crazy ain't it! grin
