I can only inject one item: run a current test on the starter cable, both hot and cold conditions. normally the
cold test should be a higher amp draw. If the hot test is higher and the cranking speed is less, check your
starter for wear or possible shorted armature/field coils. My 78 drove me nuts with a hot start problem which
was a defective armature.
