Checking out the engine that came in my 49 chevy 3600. It is a later engine, I'm guessing it's a 235 from mid 50's but don't know. I found these numbers behind the starter ( CONT A 54 ) . The numbers behind the distributor read ( 0184775 F54X ). The number on the side of the head read (B10 919 241. 570 ) . On top side of head along the edge of the valve cover it's stamped (3835913 GM ). Anyone know what I have for sure here? Didn't see any captain bars anywhere on it. Thanks George
