I think noting would look better then a flatbed on 1.5 ton truck.
If the truck is a SWB model then the truck is not that large to
start with.
If the truck has the LWB, you can shorten the flatbed.
Either way, you then can make a set of low side racks and that
truck will look sharp.
Too me putting a pickup bed on a 1.5 ton just will not look
right, no matter how well the metal work is done, because
the proportions will be off to what the truck was originally
designed.
To me most custom work always looks off because people
make changes and additions that clash with the original
design instead of fitting in with it.
Just because a striped suit, and a plaid shirt, with a polka dot
tie all individually look good does not make them all go
together to wear at the same time.
