I do believe Ron's response is correct about what car MANUFACTURE in the US
first had it,, it was the 40 Packard, one other source indicate 39 but I think
the experts stick with 40..but
your answer may be correct for what we call after market

please stay on topic folks,, if topic is about pre 73 trucks, then stick with trucks
