Thanks Steve - that is sort of what I did. I had a 7" 5/16 bolt, threaded only 1' on the end - perfect fit to the holes in the pedal and toe board. Ground one side of the hex head flat to the bolt shaft so that it would fit up under the pedal. Then the hard part - drilling a hole through the shaft for a cotter pin. Cut off the excess length and works great.

And yes, we even have an Ace WAY down south of you in Hereford, AZ. This truck has led my knowing where every fastener in there inventory is located.
