I am restoring my grandfather's 1950 gmc 150 little by little, and will eventually get to the paint job, which I plan to do myself. It is in very good shape, except for parts of the bed. It was repainted in 1976, Windsor Blue if I'm reading color charts right. Since it was always stored indoors, there is no rust or deterioration, other than a few tiny specs where I'm guessing bits of gravel were kicked up (it was a woods truck). My question is this: can the current painted surface be scuffed and painted over, or should it be stripped to bare metal?
