The most important measurement is that the holes in your floorpans line up with the cab mount holes in the frame. The best way is to use the frame as a jig. If the rear mounts are attached then you can position the floorpans over the cab mount holes, drop the bolts thru and then tack them in. My floorpans were the same as you describe being short in the middle but I just left the original center area there as it was'nt rotten and I cut the pans to join up at the corners of the opening. Remember it may not have been square to begin with. Good luck.
