Yes they're supposed to be straight. If you have access to a lathe and a dial indicator it's a pretty simple operation to straighten them, but new items shouldn't require that kind of attention. Bent pushrods won't spin when the engine is running, but a slight amount of bend probably won't affect how the engine runs. However, they will have a tendency to bend further as they run for a while.
