My engine is still overheating. Not bad but if it sits at idle for a few minutes the temperature gauge starts creeping up ( it didn't used to do that). I was talking to another stovebolt owner about it and he asked me if I had retorqued the head bolts soon after I put the head back on. I had not. In his experience the bolts loosen up within a few hours of running, and this could be the cause of the exhaust gases still getting into the coolant. Does anyone agree with him? He suggested I take the head off again and put a new head gasket on, but this time retorque it after a few hours of driving it. Is that worth a try?

My dad always told me, "Don't force it, get a bigger hammer".
