The truck was most likely built from parts in stock
during 1944.
Makes sense that GM ran enough parts to stock pile them
to be able to build some civilian trucks during the war.
Not knowing how long the war would last they just tried
to anticipate private sector need.
Hence your truck could of been built from such a stock
