Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 48 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jan 2015 Posts: 48 | I replaced wheel bearings all the way around but the rear end swap was a pumpkin swap from a 1972 3/4 ton pick-up with automatic transmission. It gave me a 20% speed increase. This is covered pretty well in the one ton forum. That project was only 1/2 days work and the results were immediate and pretty dramatic. I now can cruise at 50-55 and pass at 60 if I need to (can't wait for someone slow enough that I can pass)! Overall this makes my truck pretty balanced between the power (302 with Stromberg 2 bbl), braking (one ton disc conversion in front) and handling ( rebuilt knee action shocks), and safety (55 mph). I can live with the gear whine but hoped there might be something else that makes it more enjoyable to use.
