i think your saying that your putting color down and its melting the primer what you have to do is spray a primer sealer down thats made for the paint your spraying you may be trying to spray laquer over enamel thats a no no you can spray enamel over laqure get a good epoxy primer sealer down first then spray enamel color hope this helps
